Had fun camping? How does going home sound? Most people find going home after camp the end of all the fun that they had. It is because you have to wash camp tents, shake and fold sleeping bags, clean camping stoves, etc. Basically all the cleaning and storing of used camping gear and equipment just sound so exhausting. Remember, fun is all in a state of mind. All you need is to view cleaning in a new perspective and formulate a strategy.
You need not do all the cleaning alone. On the last day of camping, you can always go about your camping activities, but you can include cleaning as one of your activities. Like the sleeping bags for instance; turn the radio on and dance and jiggle while you and the kids shake the dirt off the sleeping bags. Then, do robotic moves as you fold the sleeping bags.
Cleaning up cabin tents after a fun camping is easy as 1-2-3. All you need to do is to organize your moves and get the kids involved. Once you arrive home, you can always spread the tent out in the backyard ask the kids to hold the rim of the tent and together you count to 3 and shake it off while singing a tune. Then, hang the tent onto a clothesline and thoroughly hose off the tent, and hose your kids too once in a while. They would definitely giggle and shout as they hide behind the tent. Once you are done, just let the tent sit out in the backyard until it is thoroughly dry.
Have you ever tried cleaning a camping stove? It is easy. All you need are paper towels, warm soapy water or spray cleaner, and clean cloth. If you use propane stove, make sure to remove the propane bottles attached to it. Then, remove the grill. Once you have removed the grill, you will notice a lot of food that got trapped in the stove. You can leave it as it, but that would definitely be gross as it is unsanitary. Remove the trapped food from the stove, then dip the cloth in warm soapy water and wipe the inside of the stove. If the grease and dirt are stubborn, use a spray cleaner. After cleaning the stove, you may do the same with the grill, and put the pieces back together.
Cleaning your camping gear is not really a tough job; you just need to formulate a strategy and delegate tasks. Involving the kids in the ‘fun’ clean-up task will teach them how to be responsible and they too will form the habit of cleaning up the things that they used.
What is camping without a lantern? To clean a Coleman lantern, you need a cloth and also warm soapy water. Use the cloth dipped in the warn water with soap to wipe the lantern’s globe and its exterior; then, do the same with the burner. Once it is clean, let the lantern sit until it is thoroughly dry. A clean lantern prolongs its life and ensures a bright light, ready for your next camping trip.
