Where would you store things without bathroom cabinets. - By: bobby mington

There are four main items that go into planning your new bathroom ready for bathroom furniture. The first is the bathroom furniture units themselves. Most bathrooms will have a toilet unit and a basin unit. If you are lucky to have a larger than standard bathroom then you can possibly add a few more units to the plan such as single base units and drawer units for storing all your lotions and potions. If you dont have any more floor space for bathroom furniture units then perhaps have a wall unit to match which will give you that extra bit of storage.

The next consideration is the colour and style of the doors. These are the only bits you will see until you open the cabinet doors so they are the most important part. You first have to decide on the colour that will complement the other colours you will have in the room such as floor tiles, walls and ceiling. Once you have chosen the colour then you must choose the style. The most popular bathroom furniture door styles are the Shaker design which is a door that has a square profile running around the outside and a sunken centre panel. The other popular door style is the Saponetta style which is a flat door with slightly rounded corners.

The worktop is the next on the checklist. There are many types of worktops such as the popular laminate style worktops which are very cost effective. You could also choose from Corian which is a solid surface worktop or a granite worktop. These two types look stunning but may be out of the budgets of most people.

Finally you need to co-ordinate the accessories such as the plinth and door handles with all the other colours you have chosen. They need to be in the same style and in keeping with look you are after.
