What Does the Toyota Recall Mean for YOUR Future? - By: Kim Thornton

Is your family income dependant on Toyota? Whether that is in an assembly plant, parts manufacturing, dealership, repair, or whatever, if you do depend on Toyota, what does all the negative publicity about this company mean for your security?

I ask this question out of very real concern.

Unless you've been living on mars, you know the company has had a serious public relations strike. Massive safety recalls along with the admission by the CEO that the business "lost its way" by putting profits before safety.

So the question comes back to those of you who rely on Toyota for your job. What do these troubling times mean for you?

To start with, I want to say that I have a great deal of both sympathy and compassion for what you are facing.

What's going to happen in your future? Can this company survive? Will there be major pink slips if sales tumble as a result of this state of affairs?

Personally, I hope the company can survive. In fact I imagine it will. But I also thik it will take considerable time. Can anyone predict just how much time?

Are consumers going to feel secure purchasing a vehicle from a company that has publicly admitted it was more interested in profits than safety? What additional revelations might be announced in the months ahead?

So yes, Toyota's reputation has taken a huge hit. You, as someone who depends on Toyota for your family's security may feel a sense of despair and hopelessness. You may realize that your future is out of your hands, that your future depends on which way the winds of change blow!

Get in Control!

One thing I urge you to do, or anyone who feels they have taken a hit due to forces outside their control, is to look for a way to get in control.

But let me say this.

I fully appreciate that most people, regardless of their situation, will not take the required steps to gain command of their future.

You may or may not fall into that category. In fact, maybe you've never considered doing something that would put you in charge of your life.

I stronlgy urge you to take a few minutes and reflect on what the future holds. If you do nothing, where will you be 12 months from now? On the other hand, if you take action today, what could your situation be in those same 12 months?
