Weight Loss Program: Walk for Life - By: Louis Jeffries

Successful Weight Loss Program.

No matter your fitness level walking is one of the best things you can do for your weight loss program. A successful weight loss program has the key elements of a healthy diet plan, regular physical exercise and effective natural nutritional supplements like Advocare weight loss to help jump start and maintain your ideal weight. Walking is an excellent exercise for weight loss and walking will also help you prevent and reduce the risks of you developing many major diseases. It is never too late for you to start a walking program to improve your health.

Walk for Weight Loss!

In general we need to be more active in our lives. Walking is the easiest way and least expensive exercise option available to us. If you are a baby boomer or senior and or you are just not in shape, start your weight loss program by walking 20 to 30 minutes a day at a pace that is slightly uncomfortable to you. Walking will increase your metabolism while it improves your energy which are both necessary to burn fat and lose weight. Sure a healthy diet plan is very important to your weight loss. You must burn more calories and fat than you consume to effectively lose weight. Walking will help you do that. There are countless testimonies from people who lose weight primarily by changing their eating habits and walking every day.

As you reach a certain fitness level you want to increase your walking intensity to lose more weight and improve your health. After a week or two you will be able to increase your speed and or even go longer. In any case you should increase your intensity in your walking weight loss plan.

Walk for Health!

If we consider the Maasai Tribe of Africa as a case study learn the benefits of walking relative to heart disease. Their diet is basically meat and milk from the cattle they herd. Their diets are very high fat. If the average American had a diet of similar fat content and devoid of fiber heart disease would be inevitable. As they were studied and autopsies done upon their death it was learned that their diets caused considerable damage to their heart and blood vessels. Yet heart disease, cancer and diabetes are unheard of among them. The simple reason is the Maasai walk 10 to 20 miles daily. Now I know there are not many of us who can add 10 to 20 miles of daily walking to our lifestyle. But if we eat a healthy diet and walk 1 to 3 miles a day while adding resistance exercise to our weight loss program we will decrease our risk of many diseases as well. We can reduce the risk of every major disease by adding a brisk walk to our daily lives.

Walk for Life!

As we walk for weight loss and walk for health we are in essence walking for life. Even God gives us a choice of life and death. So it is with our health. I recently read a cartoon caption that had the patient saying to the doctor, "I can not add one hour of walking to my busy schedule each day." The doctor replied, "maybe you can fit being dead 24 hours a day into your schedule. The choice is yours."

The choice is ours. Whether we add walking to our weight loss program for weight loss or for health, we must get in shape and eat a healthy diet plan. If we can not get all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients we need out of our diet we should consider a natural nutritional supplement like Advocare weight loss to jump start our plan. We can live healthy happy lives by the choices we make.
