It’s common, when you lose someone close, to try and hold on in your longing for just another moment in his or her presence. You ache for them to return, to fill the void their passing has created in your life. Denial and anger are easy friends at this point. Grief is painful and, understandably, often avoided. Many seek help and guidance from psychics, mediums, priests, or other third parties to provide them with at least one more chance to communicate with their loved one. To get answers about what’s happened, why it’s happened, or what’s next. Many bury their feelings and emotions in hope that it just simply goes away. Instead they quickly find it creeping up and causing them even more distress as they try to live their life.

Through my investigation with others and first-hand experience over the last twenty-three years, after losing my seventeen year old sister, I hope to bring you comfort by revealing that death does not need to be a dreary ending; it can in fact bring with it a surprising peace and calming affect on your life. On the surface, death can appear tragic, horrific, even as a betrayal from God. But I would like to share details with you to help you see that the reverse is true—death, even from apparent tragedies, is a blessing, a gift from heaven, a new beginning. Through vivid stories, I’ll show that the choice to leave this world often appears to be because the person who has made that transition can actually be of more help and service to their loved ones from the other side.

Twenty-three years ago I would never have dreamed I’d say such craziness. Losing my sister would benefit my life? No way! Nonsense! Now, after countless instances of “proof” that she continues to exist happily somewhere else, and yet delights in making my life not only safer and more abundant and purposeful, but also funnier and more exciting, I would say that, along with the birth of my children, my sister’s leaving is the most glorious gift I have ever received from God. The way it’s empowered me and heightened my intuition and expanded my vision of what it means to be “alive” and what I’m capable of is indescribable.
