Toyota Prius Hybrid Car Review – A Car Beyond Intuition - By: Eli Leroy

The hottest hybrid on the market, this hybrid car is what everyone is talking about. Prius means prize to most when they think about hybrid cars. That's not just because a Toyota Prius is a great looking car. Compared to other hybrid cars, the Toyota Prius has a ton to offer the car consumers. It's not as if potential hybrid car buyers don't already know that. News of the Toyota Prius is all over in the media.

What is the reason? Well first off, the Toyota Prius is a great hybrid car. The model I am referring to is Toyota Touring 2009 hybrid model. It's sharp, stunning, and is a best seller compared to other hybrid cars. This car is so good it was voted the car of the year in Europe in 2005. That same year in the US, the Toyota Prius received an award that is very similar to the car of the year award it received in Europe. The Prius has received many awards every year since – 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 – this car has received all the recognition it deserves because it is far and away the best hybrid car out there.

There are good reason the Toyota Prius hybrid car is selling and it isn’t because it is the fastest car around. Many high profile people own a Toyota Prius such as Leonardo Dicaprio, Harrison Ford and Susan Sarandon to name a few. With people like this driving hybrid cars, off course the Prius is selling like crazy. And because they are stars it is doing great things for the sales of hybrid cars as a whole.

Of course the success of Toyota Prius is good, especially for Toyota and Toyota dealers, but it isn't that good for its competitors who were far behind Toyota to manufacture a hybrid car. Nissan, GM and other large car manufacturers are expediting their effort to get a version that can compete with the Prius hybrid to market.

Some manufacturers did not believe they needed to get into the hybrid car market simply because they didn’t believe that people would put their faith into hybrid cars as a possible solution for the constant fluctuation of oil prices. But the sales numbers for the Toyota Prius hybrid car has obviously caused a change in their thinking. In the not so distant future you may hear of a number one selling Nissan hybrid or GM hybrid. Additionally Toyota Prius owners shouldn't get comfortable with their car because before they know it, something better will come out that they would like to have instead.

As far as Toyota is concerned, some claims have been made that in the foreseeable future, all Toyota engines will have hybrid options. And Toyota also believes that it is only a matter of time before all cars produced are hybrid cars and at least have a hybrid engine options available.

In 2005, Toyota began making Prius's in China, and there, sales are also expected to boom because China has the fastest growing car market and 5 of the 10 most polluted cities in the world. Toyota doesn't plan on leaving anyone behind. There has been talk that it may expand its manufacturing plants to such locations as California. Without a doubt there are plenty of movie stars who would want to buy this hybrid car.

The Toyota Prius has made a name for hybrid cars, and hopefully the buck won't stop with the Prius. It will be interesting to see what Toyota has coming next with other models of hybrids cars that could have top sales as well.
