The preponderance of goals, time and money - By: Greg Suggate

Have you got goals in your life, whether they're short, medium or long term? What are you doing at the moment to make those goals happen?

What is it you would like to be doing more of that would give you more satisfaction than you're currently getting?

If you're currently in a particular situation, unhappy and think you're in a financial and emotional rut ask yourself the question; what am I doing at the moment to reduce my expenses and liabilities, and increase my income and assets?

Some people will say money is not important to them. I say, lets test that theory. What do 96% of Australians spend most of their day doing? Working for money, and what else do the majority of Australians wish they had more of? Time, and how do you get that time? Money. Or working less and earning more.

The only way you're going to better your situation and get your time back is if you make changes and make it happen yourself.

First thing you need to realise when trying to make a change is awareness. If you're aware of what you're doing isn't working, it is only then you can be susceptible to change. You have to be brutally honest with yourself when assessing your own circumstances. If you're doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result, that is the definition of insanity.

Doesn't it make sense to do whatever it takes to get yourself where you want to be rather than accepting your current situation and continue to be drawn further away from achieving your goals?

What happens when people have neither time nor money, they become stressed and begin trying to control someone or something they have absolutely no control over.

What is the cause of most marriage break ups and depression? Is it money? Have a think about it. Someone is always too busy with work or something else, and usually not attending to the more important considerations in their life, and normally what they're trying to squeeze into their busy schedule is something irrelevant to helping their cause and more than likely it's something to distract them from the miserable life they're leading and not actually making any headway towards achieving their goals. Think about what's most important in your life and ask yourself, would things be better if I had more time and money?

Is it true from a young age we were told to go to school, get a good education, go to university, get a lot of degree's, the more degree's you have the smarter you are and the more successful you'll be in life. Often you'll meet people who are highly intelligent and very well educated, yet will still be struggling with their finances due to a poor understanding of financial management, simply because the subject has never been a priority in their lives.

What is it you think you have to do differently to achieve your goals and reach your full potential? If you're currently in a job or situation and know that you could be doing so much better, but aren't, then have a serious think about the excuses you give.

Success is based around exactly what Albert Einstein said which is "The ability to action an idea". But most people need to address a step before this and that is "The ability to entertain an idea".
