The Great World of Exercise Bikes - By: Dan Brathers

Exercise bikes have been around for a long time and they have held their popularity throughout the years. They have been ideal for those who aren?t able to perform their usual workout routines due to terrible weather or for those who just simply want to stay indoors and keep their blood running.

There are two basic kinds of exercise bikes available. They are the upright bikes and the recumbent bikes. Upright bikes are very similar to regular bicycles except you pedal in place and don?t go anywhere. The recumbent bikes have bucket-like seats that have pedals in front of you.

Some people may wonder if one type of exercise bike is better than the other. It all comes down to your preference. Recumbent bikes create better back support and are more comfortable to people who have lower back pain. These bikes are more effective at burning fat compared to the upright bikes. Their bucket seats are more comfortable as well. Another benefit from the seats is that, they stress the gluteal muscles. They are great for developing a fitter backside.

Exercise bikes have maintained their popularity because they are very easy to use and they provide great healthy benefits.

Deciding which type of bike suits you best can be a bit tricky. There are a myriad of exercise bikes that all promise great health after extended periods of use and have different devices that may tell you your heart rate, how length of time you?ve been on the bike, and they may measure mileage. It all depends on what you want to accomplish with your exercise bike. You really don?t need a bike that?s full of gadgets unless you really want one.

A good price for a home exercise bike is around $300 to $350 dollars. Never get a cheap exercise bike or one that costs too much. I?m quite sure you don?t want to waste money. All you want is a bike that creates great benefits for you in the long run.
