The Basics of Dumbbells - By: Dan Brathers

Sometimes heading off to the gym can be a complete hassle. You have to go through a process of finding the right gym for you. This includes extensive amount of research on their monthly plan, what kinds of exercise equipment they use, the cost, and other factors that are commonly taken into consideration. Some others may be intimidated by joining a gym and are simply unsure of themselves. If you want to begin working out slowly or are just in the process of finding a right gym, dumbbells are your safest bet.

Dumbbells are some of the most commonly used forms of equipment. In fact, most professionals use dumbbells as it has been proved to be one of the best ways of effectively increasing strength in your muscles. They create stress on a greater amount of muscle fibers and you are able to work your muscles at a different angle. If used correctly, dumbbells can simply replace any machine or barbell.

There are plenty of body parts that can be strengthened through dumbbell exercises. The primary body parts are: the chest, back, triceps, biceps, shoulders, and legs. If following a proper routine or workout regimen, these areas can be strengthened and toned very quickly.

A great workout plan usually includes two or three dumbbell exercises per body part. Always alternate so that each body part can get the amount of proper rest. If you are noticing that a certain exercise is causing too much stress, just switch to another one. This is a great benefit from using dumbbells.

Dumbbells are bought in increments of five pounds. This is perfect for those who plan on subscribing to a long term fitness regimen. This makes it easy to buy weights that match your level of strength as you progress. If you are following a plan, it is best to buy a dumbbell rack to organize your dumbbell set. Without it, your dumbbells will clutter your room and take up unnecessary space. Also, dumbbells usually come in rubber encasing or they are made out of chrome. Rubber encasing decreases the chances of damaging the floors and minimizes noise.

Always remember that finding a lift of exercises won?t give you fast results. It takes a lot of discipline, a balanced diet, and other cardiovascular exercises to give you the results that you are looking for.
