Sunburn is a burn and oedema on your skin from excessive exposure to the sun’s rays. The sunburn is caused by the ultraviolet radiation which are emitted from the sun. The sunburn is related with the microscopic changes in the skin. Around 4-7 days after exposure skin may start to peel and flake off. The ultraviolet radiation (UV) contains the three spectrum such as UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. The UV-A and UV-B are causes the sunburn and are dangerous to the skin. But the UV-C is is filtered out of the atmosphere so it is not harmful to our skin. The people with fair skin are more likely to get sunburn. The home treatments may provide some relief from a mild sunburn. This is appear in the highest flux of solar radiation. The sunburn is more affected in the lighter colour persons. The sunburn person at highest risk typically have fair skin, blue eyes, and blond hair.

What are the treatments of Sunburn?
Avoid sun exposure between 10am to 3pm.
Use a lip balm with sunscreen.
Apply soothing lotions that contain aloe vera to sunburned areas.
Wear sun protective clothes.
Wear the sunglasses.
Use cool cloths on sunburned areas.
Do not wash burned skin with harsh soap
Use the sunscreen lotions, creams and so many thing which cause no effect of the sun.
Wear scarps before going to the anywhere at the mid time.
Systemic steroids may shorten the course and reduce the pain of sunburn.
Wear sun hats.
Apply a topical steroid to exposed areas twice daily for two or three days
Always use sunglasses to cover your eyes against UV radiation. You will protect your skin around the eyes.
Mix two teaspoon tomato juice and four tablespoon buttermilk and apply on the face. Leave for 1/2 hour, and wash off. It is an effective home remedy for sunburn.
Spray vinegar all over burn or soak small towels in vinegar and apply to skin
Soak a cloth or cotton gauze in cold whole milk and apply carefully onto the burned skin and leave it for 15 minutes to 20 minutes, then wash with cold water.
Drink more water when exposed to the sun, because your body loses water and essential salt in the sunlight. To prevent this, take more fluid to ensure your skin health.
Rub the area with mustard oil and leave it for sometime. It will remove the tan and pull out the heat from the affected area providing relief from itching and redness.
Fill a bath with cool water and add 2 cups oatmeal. Soak in bath for about 30 minutes.
Make a mixture of wheat flour mixed with milk, olive oil, or barley flour, honey, and raw egg white paste. It will be a best facial for sunburn skin. This is one of the effective home remedies for sunburn.
Coconut oil is very gentle for skin. Massage whole body with coconut oil before going out in sun. It hepls in sunburn prevention.
Have little juice of raw mango along with salt and sugar. Have this twice or thrice a day.
Fill a spray bottle with cool water and dissolve 1/4 cup baking soda. Spritz on burned skin.
