Sci Fi Skin Parasites - By: Richard Kuhns

Skin Parasites that itch relentlessly, rashes and skin lesions that never heal, and Lyme Disease--and they are all connected. What's more is that they can be caught simply by sitting in an infected airplane seat, or by trying on clothes at the boutique that have been infected. And the disappointing news is that doctors can't diagnose them nor do they know how to treat them. In fact, the CDC (Center for Disease Control in Atlanta) doesn't even know what they are. It sounds like an episode out of the Twilight Zone or for that matter it could be a Sci Fi movie about skin parasites taking over the world. There are those that even suspect that these skin parasites are a product of some kid of germ warfare.

In the mid 90's I was pulling a vine from a tree in my backyard. As I dislodged the vine from the tree I noticed a cloud of dust descending from the tree onto me. I disposed of the vine, took a shower and thought nothing more of it. Four days later my significant other and I began itching relentlessly all over our bodies.

The only way we could quell the itching was with a hot bath at which point we thought the itching resolved. Not so fast. Hours later we were again in the tub. Additionally we tried every topical lotion or powder we had in the house with no improvement. The only way we could get temporary relief was the hot--near scalding--bath.

The next day my significant other--a nurse--went to a doctor who although he couldn't identify anything, prescribed Elimite. We both used it and were glad to experience immediate relief which lasted about four days and then once again all hell broke. This time in addition to the itching, I began having rashes and bites over most of my body.

I went to a dermatologist who also couldn't identify the cause. She took blood tests and a biopsy from one of the lesions. I was confident and hopeful that the tests would identify the source of my aggravation. In the meantime she prescribed an antibiotic which provided immediate relief and I thought my nightmare over. Around the fourth day, or shall I say night, I was awakened with crawling and biting sensations all over my body.

Reflecting in the sunlight we also noticed shinny specs all over our bodies. We also noticed small bugs flying in the house.

At some point we realized that not only were the bugs on our bodies but all over our home--in our bedding, rugs, and furniture. I must say it was one depressing realization and one from which we received no direction from either of our doctors.

We tried all types of bug spray and insect bombs in the house to no avail. Searching on the internet I learned of diatomaceous earth and dusted it all over the house. Outside, I bought an insecticide to kill chiggers and treated the lawn and sprayed all the shrubs and trees.

Hoping that some type of spice such as curry or garlic would help, I experimented with both and found relief from consuming garlic.

Laundering our clothing and bedding with either bleach or ammonia was a daily activity.

In the course of six months we ended up infecting my mother and my significant other's sister and her husband with skin parasites.

The problem was that massive doses of garlic eventually stopped working and I was back to square one. In search of help I consulted a half dozen other physicians only to be prescribed some type of sulfa antibiotic or be told that nothing was wrong with me.

I would have gone to China for the cure if there were one. A friend suggested diet as a possible approach. I had nothing to lose and took her advice and through a very strict elimination diet was able to minimize my symptoms. I started by taking a very hot bath to kill any adult parasites on my body. Made sure my bedding and clothing were disinfected as well as the furniture I used. Then I ate nothing but eggs made with butter--no bread.
I was surprised to discover that I had no reactions and within a few days didn't have to launder my bedding and clothing every day.

Over the course of several years I discovered which foods activate parasites and which foods don't activate them. I put all my research and findings in an e-book titled Soothing the Itch Within and the Diet to Control It. It covers bathing and disinfection techniques, medications that help and medications that don't help.

I learned that the skin parasites are any one of several varieties--Collembola (Spring Tails), Strongyloides, and Morgellons... The good news is that the diet works with all of the parasites mentioned.
