Never Miss a Chance to Hand Out Your Business Card - By: Colleen Davis

There isn’t a single event during the year where you can get your business cards out to every person that you want to. Marketing isn’t confided so neatly to a small time frame made for the luxury of those who need to promote themselves.

True marketing is about what you do everyday of your life. There are so many opportunities all around you to start up a conversation that might lead to a future sale, or introduce yourself to a potential contact for better profits.

Each time you’re sitting in a waiting room or waiting for a bus or plane you are going to be surrounded by possible customers. Even when you’re waiting in line at the store, or browsing through merchandise at a store you should be prepared. There is no true rest for the savvy marketer searching for every possible sale they can get.

But of course, to take advantage of these opportunities you have to be prepared with some effective custom business cards, because this too is a part of recognizing every chance for a sale.

There are only two things to consider when it comes to the impression you leave on people. The first is what you talked about and how you approached mentioning your company. The second is the business card you hand to them. If your card is basic and non-descript they might be quick to forget you.

Really, it puts more pressure on the things you talked about. You have to be that much more interesting in order to make up for how lacking in personality your business card is.

If you instead make sure to get a custom business card that helps start up a conversation itself, then you have two things people are going to be able to latch onto and remember, which increases the odds of them picking up your business card months down the line and remembering exactly who you are.

The best kinds of business cards are the ones that relate specifically to your industry in some way and remain interesting to look at. What you put on the card will deal with the type of industry you’re in and what will have the best chance of encouraging conversation, and helping someone remember you.

Of course, none of this matter if you aren’t looking for those perfect opportunities to talk to someone. You can have the best business card in the world, but if no one is seeing it because you aren’t doing anything to get exposure for it, then does it really matter?

Seize your opportunities and make sure you’re always on the look out for the next person to strike up a conversation with. I think you’ll be surprised at how many business opportunities are out there if you’re just willing to take the time to check it out.
