Mississippi River Cruise Minneapolis - By: Dave Cormack

The Mississippi River has served as a border between international areas of influence, a delineation marker between states, and a means of moving materials from one part of the country to another. Steamboats once ferried passengers and supplies from Minneapolis all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. Twin Cities Cruises offers guests a chance to experience the same thrill with two exclusive ways to see the Mississippi up close and personal.

Minneapolis Queen

The Minneapolis Queen offers traditional paddleboat cruises along the Mississippi River. Excursions on the Minneapolis Queen include the popular Friday Night Dinner Cruise featuring the natural wonder of the upper St. Anthony Falls and a spectacular view of Boom Island and its historic lighthouse. The Sightseeing and Lock Cruise allows guests to take in the beautiful downtown Minneapolis skyline, traverse the largest lock on St. Anthony Falls, and enjoy a selection of snacks while you take in the sights and sounds of the Mississippi. A family favorite, the Happy Hour Pizza and Lock Cruise provides complimentary pizza, a full cash bar, and the chance to see the skyline of Minneapolis at dusk. Narrated cruises are available on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons throughout the summer, and provide the historic background of the Mississippi River and various points of interest along the way.

Paradise Lady

With seating capacity for up to 145 passengers, the Paradise Lady offers luxurious yacht amenities including three spacious open-air decks, a fully-stocked bar, an elegant grand staircase, and dance areas for entertaining and wedding receptions. The largest onboard wedding venue provided by Twin Cities Cruises, the Paradise Lady is well equipped for receptions, business meetings, and private parties with an advanced CD sound system. Full dinner service including china, silverware, and white linens is provided for formal parties, and built-in buffet areas provide much-needed table space without taking up interior room. A video screen is available for use upon request.

An elegant wedding gazebo is available onshore for larger ceremonies, along with additional parking for guests. Complimentary snacks are provided on all cruises, and charter tours are available by arrangement with Twin Cities Cruises.
