Make A CV and Covering Letter For Graduate Jobs - By: Jonathan Walker

The UK Graduate Jobs market is becoming increasingly more competitive with each day that goes by, with more and more graduates, both new and older applying for positions as they become available.

The graduate jobs market didn't always be this busy and cut throat, before there would tend to be a lack of candidates putting themselves forward for roles compared to some of the other industries. But this has all changed due to the ever increasing accessibility of Universities and even obtaining degrees whilst studying from home and in the workplace.

With all these new people earning degrees there is no doubt why the competition is so intense to fill the latest Graduate Jobs. With this in mind, it's now more important than ever to ensure that your application is of the highest possible quality.

Some people tend to think that it is not overly important to have a well written application as the facts of your CV will speak for themselves enough to ensure that you are invited to an interview. Sometimes this may well be the case, but in reality for this to happen you will need to be an extreme stand out.

So what you need to do is to put all of your efforts into your application to ensure that you will be invited to attend an interview. Well you can't ensure that you will be invited to attend an interview, but you can put yourself in the best position to do so.

Take a look at the way that you are applying for graduate jobs at the moment. Do you simply send the same CV and covering letter for each vacancy that you apply for? Many people tend to do this, thinking that they are making the most of their precious time throughout the day. In reality this could be the reason why you aren't being invited to interviews.

What you need to get into the habit of doing when applying for jobs is to treat each vacancy as an opportunity to really sell yourself. You need to show your potential new employers that you are the right person for the job and ultimately the only way to do that is to ensure that you have all the skills and or experiences that they are looking for.

Custom your CV and covering letter for each Graduate Job that you apply for. You will spend a lot more time applying for jobs, but you should find more success this way!
