Vitamin C –is one of the relatively few topical agents whose effectiveness against wrinkles and fine lines is backed by a fair amount of reliable scientific evidence. Unfortunately, the practical use of Vitamin C in skin care presents some difficulties due to its lack of stability. Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) is a water soluble derivative of Vitamin C, rapidly gaining popularity in skin care. It is non irritating and more stable form of Vitamin C. MAP doesn’t degrade in formulas containing water.

It suppresses melanin formation by tyrosinase and melanoma cells. These results suggest that MAP delays progression of skin damage induced by UVB irradiation.
