MLB: Zambrano leads the Cubs’ Win - By: Stephen Lars.

Carlos Zambrano’s come back to the Chicago Cubs after his right shoulder injury which kept him away for some time, gave new hopes to the team that this could be the season they were expecting especially because the Cubs were aware of his skills and abilities as the game turned out to be their first no-hitter in the past three and a half decades.

The latest victory over the Houston Astros made the team came back to life after losing eight previous games. The Venezuelan Zambrano, who has played for Chicago for a very long time, led the Cubs to its main objective win this game. After what we saw on the field, not even Dempster's forecast regarding the Cubs managing to win the World Series seemed unreasonable now that the team holds the National League best record.

All-star player “Big Z” as his fans and baseball experts also know Zambrano showed he is back in the game and he sent the message that there is more action coming up. Before his return, things did not look very bright for Chicago but the positive feeling was never lost completely, as the team has other good players who are good resources. But there was the issue of the playoffs round and eventually the World Series games.

“I was watching the scoreboard as the innings ended. In the ninth inning, when I came out and the crowd was all crazy, that helped me out a little bit. Thank God it was the 8-9-leadoff hitter coming up,” said Zambrano.

The game between the Astros and the Cubs served as the end of a continues losing streak by the Cubs, the return of a key player besides its very particular situation as it was played in Milwaukee at the Miller Park due to the problems caused by the recent Hurricane Ike; therefore, a neutral location had to be chosen.

Let’s also not forget that Zambrano is the first Cubs’ pitcher to accomplish such an achievement since 1972 when Milt Pappas threw a no-hitter against the Padres. Additionally, Zambrano holds a record of 95-60 win-loss, an average earned run of 3.42 and 1,156 strike outs.

Both the Cubs and Zambrano have celebrated this special moment, but the starting pitcher refers to the game win as a collective effort, which will take them to the World Series, which will take place from October 22nd to the 30th between the American League and the National League Champions.

Zambrano keeps a clear perspective about the coming games and him and his teammates have a clear goal in mind, which is to take the Cubs to the next level, and the World Series.

With the latest win the Cubs took an advantage of seven games in the division, right before the Brewers that recently lost when they played the Philadelphia Phillies. Indeed there is more action coming up and we, the baseball fans, just can’t wait to see how the story unveils.
