If you're buying a brand new duvet, you'll want a duvet cover to go with it. It's essential to have a quilt cover in order to protect it from getting dirty. The range of bedding sheet sizes is huge, so be sure to find the correct size for the best fit. A duvet that is too small for the cover will end up bunching and up in the corners.

With so many various sizes that include single, double, queen and king it can be a little baffling. These sizes are generally referred to as UK sizes and in the U.S there are many more. Kids can be quite picky about bedding and it's not uncommon for children to also prefer larger double bed sets. When considering what kind of bedding set to get a child you need to think about their age and what they're into. Young children's themes are fine for the little ones, but as they get older they will prefer something that suits their age.

Your best bet is finding a duvet set that matches the current decor of the room, since kids often put posters and things up that they like. Some duvet covers are better quality than others, and typically a good set will be thicker while a low quality one may be quite see-through. Avoid a cover with a very low thread count as it will probably not be very good quality. Thread counts go up to a thousand and the higher you go the softer and more comfortable the duvet cover will be. Grown-ups have the choice of luxurious fabrics such as satin and even silk when choosing bedding sets.
