Self hypnosis is a very simple technique that anyone can learn and master within a couple of days. Crossing the barrier between your conscious and subconscious can only be achieved by letting yourself fall into trance. Once you’ve learned to tap into your subconscious, you will have the power to control and modify any of your false, limiting beliefs, unwanted behaviors or negative thoughts and emotions.

Learning how to put your own self into a trance is achieved using the following guidelines and steps during each hypnosis phase.

Induction Phase

The first phase in doing self hypnosis is the induction. During this phase, you must first find a peaceful, quiet and comfortable place to lie down. You should be able to feel calm, relaxed and comfortable as a preparation for going into a more relaxed state.

Prepare and have your script or tape recorded audio script readily available. This will help you focus more on putting yourself into a trance without worrying that you might forget the next statements you will be using during the process.

Read or listen to the statements during the induction phase and focus intently on them. Usually, you will read or hear instructions that your eyelids are getting heavier and heavier, closing gently, and you are getting very tired. Focusing on what the self hypnosis script says will help you fall into trance.

Deepening Phase

The deepening phase will allow you to get yourself into a more calm and relaxed state. Slowly and gently, try to let go of your own consciousness following again what the script says. This will help you to fall into a deep sleep allowing you to make contact with your subconscious.

Allowing yourself to completely detach yourself from reality will enable you to become focused and more aware with your inner being, thoughts and beliefs as well as your emotions.

Suggestion Phase

Once you fully achieved a deep relaxed state, let the script do the work for you.

Try to focus on the written script or voice that will help you remember some major past events or memories that happened in your life. The script can also use symbolic and direct suggestions or commands that enable you to become fully aware of your problems or issues in life.

Post hypnotic suggestions will be given right after you have determined the root cause of your problem. In this stage, the script amazingly works by giving out statements that will empower and give you the drive to change any of your beliefs, behaviors and negative thoughts and emotions.

These suggestions can also directly target and modify any of your unhealthy or bad habits by stating something that will enable you to change your ways.

Awakening Phase

After listening to all of your hypnotic suggestions, it is time for you to wake up from your deep trance. You will need to count yourself back into reality then open your eyes. Sometimes, it will take you a couple of minutes before waking up.
