Learn About The Automobile Ins Debate Today - By: John Denvert

More and more people are becoming annoyed at the requirements that are imposed on them as drivers on state roadways. The automobile ins debate is a very common household discussion when budgets are being discussed. Many ask themselves why they are required to carry vehicle coverage today and why are they required to register their vehicles with the state.

The reasons and answers to these questions can be easily explained. However, few people agree with the reasoning behind the answers. Many states today have these fees to help cover the costs associated with maintaining and building roadways today. However, at the same time many people today are not impressed with the maintenance, especially those who live in rural areas.

Today the use of registration fees for road construction and repairs is common knowledge. The use of fees from the required vehicle coverage is not so clear today. Many people may go a lifetime and never file an insurance claim whereas others may have regular claims against their insurance. For those who never have any claims, the money that they pay in is used to pay for others.

The mandatory requirements for coverage are in place to protect others in most cases. If you are driving and cause an accident, your coverage will normally pay for the damage to the other vehicle. Consequently, if you are involved in a collision that is not your fault, the at fault driver's coverage is to pay for the damage to your property.

The automobile ins debate is likely to continue as more and more people struggle financially with other financial obligations. Because there is a mandatory requirement for some form of coverage in all of the states, people are looking for the lowest cost that they can find. This results in the bare minimum coverage, but it meets the mandatory levels set by the state.
