Affiliate marketing has been the main stay of online marketing for many years. Perhaps you're an online marketer and you understand what I'm saying. If so you've come to realize that it's a jungle out there, and the phrase, dog eat dog certainly applies here. But let me be specific and say that there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel.

For the most part ClickBank has been the main focus for promoting downloadable products (products such as eBooks, software etc). The potential for profit however, has dwindled in the past year. This could be due to increased competition as well as the lack of proper preparation and marketing savvy.

One of the {most important factors I've identified is what I call the guru hold. The guys with the biggest lists are the ones privy to product pre-launches. This small elite group is given the luxury of promoting the product before anyone else thus taking the largest market share leaving the small guy with the scraps.

But this issue can be circumvented and if you're skeptical at this point that's ok, I would be too. Let me add that you should be.

I'm sure you've heard that automation is the key to doing business online. While this is true, it's not the end all of affiliate marketing because there is more to promoting a products than just buying software.

Buying any software won't make it happen unless you research your product and how the software can fill your specific needs. There is and never has been software that will do everything for you without monitoring and tweaking. If you've fallen prey to the slimy gurus that sell you the latest and the greatest solutions that NEVER deliver results you'll be glad to learn that there is hope.

Perhaps you are not aware that many of the affiliate marketing tasks can be automated. For example lead generation means that it takes time and ingenunity to generate new prospects. Here's where automation takes over and saves hours upon hours of time.

Backlinking and pinging is another important part of lead generation and of course this can be automated as well. Additionally blogging and video marketing can play a part and these too, need time and can and should be automated. The most important component is to uncover niches. This is important because if you define a small market niche it's possible to gain more conversions and sales. It's the target market concept that takes over and software can help with that as well.

So it seems that time is the biggest factor in online affiliate marketing. And time is the commodity that eludes most of us. Everyone's life is filled with obligations, businesses and non-business related responsibilities and we don't a lot of time to spare and this is the main reason that many fail at affiliate marketing.
By the same token automation can take over many of the tasks that can be automated leaving you free for the more important tasks related to humans and that software cannot accomplish. Automating can not only save you time it can make you money.

Let's face it, in the brick and mortar world it would be easy; you would just hire it done. In the virtual world you're the band leader for your "one man band". So the big question is not IF I should automate, but HOW I can automate..

Software is the only real answer and it can do it all for you. It's important, however that you do your due diligence. Google Backlink software, search engine submission software, Lead generation software, Ping, syndication and other keywords and you'll come up with many answers. But what you will find is what I sometimes call "disjointed chicken." You have all the correct pieces, but they are hard to put back together to work as one cohesive unit.

Wouldn't it be a life-saver to find software that would do all these jobs sand work as one? Yes with one piece of software it's possible to accomplish complete or almost complete automation and leverage your time to your advantage while making a good living at the same time.
