The law enforcement agencies help maintain law and order in the city and make us feel more secure. With their efforts and alertness we common people can easily move anywhere and anytime with so much ease. When you see a police personal the first thing which catches your attention is the dress and not to miss the Police Badges. What a great feel it gives when you see a policeman in a dress with those badges on his/her shoulder. Amazing! You feel proud and it gives immense pleasure to see them in their official attire.

We all at some point in time have witnessed a law enforcement official maintaining peace and order in the streets. And they are always in their uniforms, with which anyone can easily identify them. These uniforms are incomplete without these specialized Law Enforcement Badges. It is basically an insignia that identifies a certain individual as a member of the police force. In the insignia you will find some basic features like the specification of the officer’s jurisdiction location and has a unique set of numbers that differentiates one officer from other officers in the same department. Every badge displays the rank of the officer. As there are various departments in the police force, so each department has a different badge design which makes them look different. One can easily identify their department if you are in the same business.

Generally, there are two common shapes in law enforcement badges. One is the star and the other one is the shield. It is not mandatory, but what is normally observed is that the county sheriffs wear badges that are shaped as a star. In some of the star badges there is a crescent border surrounding them, but this is not that common. The shield shaped police badges are also quite popular. If you want to compare one badge from another, the best feature to identify is the badge city seal. One important point to note here is that no standard rules are followed for designing a badge. These two designs are the most commonly available designs. There are various companies that manufacture replicas of law enforcement badges. This is not good practice as people with bad intentions can easily buy them and can use them for their benefit. These badges are sold as collectibles or costume accessories in various stores.
