Latest Nokia X6 Black Edition Goes Pay As You Go - By: susan hargreaves

Nokia's latest music phone has now been released on Pay As You Go, the Nokia X6 is now available in black as a prepay handset with the smaller 16GB internal memory capacity.

The 16GB Nokia X6 might have half the memory of the original 32GB X6 models but it is now expandable for those that need the extra room, the only other difference between this newer model and the original is the lack of the 'Comes with Music' service which has been omitted to keep costs down.

Aimed squarely at the youth market, the X6 16GB is a cheaper version than the 32GB edition and now comes in a range of funky colour schemes, joining this black edition is also a white, blue, pink and silver model with a further yellow colour variant on its way soon.

This new music phone takes over where the previous Nokia 5800 left off, incorporating a good sized 3.2 inch touch screen and sharper corners the X6 also upgrades the camera to 5.0 mega pixels with a Carl Ziess lens for quality photo capture.

Other improvements include connectivity with HSDPA for fast download times of new mobile content, as well as WiFi and GPS. There is also the most advanced version of Nokia's music player on board and with 16GB of internal memory this phone can hold up to 5,500 songs without expansion.

Dedicated music phones are not commonplace in the mobile phones market, Nokia obviously have their new X-Range which also includes the new Nokia X3 whilst Sony Ericsson have their Walkman range with the Sony Ericsson W995 being the most advanced currently available. The manufacturer does also now offer their Sony Ericsson Vivaz and previous Sony Ericsson Aino phone which although not part of the music series does offer a good media player with a large screen or watching films and video clips.

Aside from the music functionality, there are a number of new models that can compete on the rest of the X6's specifications, the 3.2 inch touch screen is matched by models such as the HTC Touch 2, LG Pop, Samsung Omnia 2, and Nokia's own Nokia N97 Mini.

This latest black edition of the X6 16GB phone is now available on O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Virgin and the 3 Mobile networks as a pay monthly contract phone as well as being released as a SIM Free handset with no network ties.
