The whole procedure involves using a laser beam on the eye that doesn’t have 20/20 vision. The process takes shorter than a minute per eye and there is not a long recovery period (only a day). The short surgical procedure is painless and you will be able to get back to your daily routine in not time.
Protocols of laser eye centers

Most laser eye centers follow the same protocol when doing the Lasik procedure. This is:

1. The medical professional will use a device known as microkeratome to glide across the first top two layers of the cornea. A flap is created that resembles a hinge.

2. The medical professional will now have complete access to the third layer scientifically known as the stoma of the cornea. The laser will then change the shape of the cornea by the simple effect that it has on the third layer.

3. Since the eye tissue will bind itself together, the flap will be repositioned back over the third layer without stitching it.

As you can see this is a very simple procedure that all laser eye centersperform that takes a very short time to do. After the surgical procedure is done then you will be allowed to go home and rest for the next twelve hours. There is virtually no pain involved, all you will feel though is like something small and light that will be on the eye. You will then be ready to go back to your daily activities after the eye has healed which will be a couple of days. A word of caution though, studies have shown that one in five people are not the right candidates for Lasik surgery there consult the medical expert whether or not you are eligible to undergo the procedure. Those who are not perfect for the Lasik surgery then have other options that are ready at their disposal.
