Although time consuming, Laser Hair Removal treatment is easy to use and permanent which in turn saves you from repeatedly having to shave, wax, or undergo facials.
There are many types of Laser Hair Removal systems available in the market. Most of them make claims like ‘best for body hair treatment’, but you should not get swayed by false claims. It is essential that you check out each Laser Hair Removal system thoroughly and only then choose the right one, that will give you the desired results.
Two types of Laser Hair Removal systems are commonly available on the market, that is the:
Rio Salon Laser
Rio Scan Laser
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses laser lights — an intense, pulsating beam of light — to remove unwanted hair. It works by passing a light beam through the skin. The laser targets dark pigment, called melanin, in the hair and therefore works better on darker hair. When the light beam hits the hair follicle, the intense heat destroys the hair follicle instantly.
Laser Hair Removal is particularly useful for large areas such as legs, arms and backs. During treatment, lasers generally target hair follicles, damaging them while leaving the rest of the skin intact.
Hair removal lasers have a round spot about the size of your finger (8-18 mm). Larger spot sizes help make treatments faster and more effective. However, shorter wavelengths may be more effective in removing hair.
It is necessary to undergo between 6 - 8 treatment sessions before adequate results can be seen. Coarse dark hair on light skin is easiest to treat. Finer hair and hair on darker skin is harder to treat and may require more treatments. The number of sessions depend on various parameters including:
The area of the body treated
Skin color
Coarseness of hair; and
Gender
Usually, treatments are spaced between 3-12 weeks apart at the start, although the duration depends upon an individuals response to the treatment. One should wait until one has experienced shedding of the treated hair, which should be complete within 2-3.5 weeks, and see enough hair come in after the hair-free period to have another treatment.
SIDE EFFECTS:-
No medical treatments are without potential hazards and laser hair removal is no exception.
1. Pain - You can have pain both during and after the procedure.
2. Discomfort during the process can often be alleviated by using a local anesthetic.
3. Swelling - There is a potential risk of some sort of swelling at and around the area that was treated. Depending on which area you have chosen to treat, this side effect may be more or less of a problem.
4. There is also a very serious chance of possible long-term or permanent epidermal damage.
5. The disadvantages of laser hair removal are that it can be painful, it tends to be expensive, and improper treatments can cause burns, skin discoloration, and blotches.
Before using any type of Laser Hair Removal treatment, it is best to consult your physician and ask for the best treatment.
