Helping with a child’s homework is one of the tasks that all parents know they have to do but which can strike terror into any parent’s heart. The work done in schools by children nowadays is often very different from the work that was done when the parent’s generation was there, and it can seem quite daunting when your child comes to you and asks how they should do their homework.

Using a laptop can’t make any parent instantly knowledgeable about every subject there is, but it does give the advantage of having the internet at your fingertips so that you can look things up – or better still, direct your child to look it up. A laptop means that you can help whatever you are doing, so if you are in the kitchen getting the dinner, you can still have your child with you finding out information at the kitchen table beside you.
