Can a nano reef fish tank be as successful as larger tanks?

Yes, even more so. The most crucial factor in keeping every reef aquarium is water quality. You can have the fanciest lights, the "best" ingredients, etc, if your water quality is not really spot on, you will not have a healthy reef. The simplest way to maintain optimal mineral water quality is by performing water changes. Since nano's get such low water volume, one can perform 50% mineral water changes weekly without quite possibly pulling a sweat!

All you will need to maintain your nano saltwater aquarium is salt and an RO-DI unit! Without a doubt, you still need the obvious items such as illumination, temp control, water movement, food, etc, but you will not really need any type associated with filtration. No protein skimmer, no carbon reactor, no phosphate reactor with zero mechanical filtration either. You will most probably not even ought to worry about dosing with regard to calcium, alkalinity nor magnesium!

Simple, you will get All you need from a simple water change! Remember, you have a 10 gallon tank. Important note** Useful mixed saltwater covered to protect it from stuff obtaining it and to minimize evaporation. If it evaporates, your salt mix is going to be comprised. As you are in all likelihood already aware, salt fails to evaporate, only water will.
