Keeping on Top of Your Body - By: Nick Campbell

It happens to us all. We get our body just how we want it and then life starts getting in the way. Maybe its work, Christmas, holidays, travel or the addition of a small person or two waking you up in the early hours, but either way, the result is the same: all that hard work goes down the pan.

But with just a few simple steps, you can ensure that you can keep on top of your body and make sure that busy doesn’t mean saggy.

Do those jobs around the house: Many of those jobs that you have been putting off for a long time will give your body a good workout. Whether it is home improvements or building that garden wall you will be working your body and being productive at the same time.

Keep cooking: When we are busy and tired we are much more likely to just call for a takeaway or let the microwave make our meal for us. Find time to cook your own food so you can be sure you are still getting a balanced and healthy diet.

Use supplements: It is important that your body gets the nutrients it needs so that it doesn’t start breaking down body mass to get them elsewhere. Protein bars and other dietary supplements will help keep your muscles strong and with your muscles’ elephant-like memory, even just small bursts of exercise should help you hold onto them.

Reduce your calories: If you are exercising less, you need less calories to function. If you continue to eat as much you will gain weight in all the wrong areas.

So remember, keep active even if you don’t have time for the gym and snack on those protein bars, and you might just find your body doesn’t change after all.
