The global pandemic of Swine Flu has affected most people. With 300,000 cases confirmed around the world this has drawn attention to cleanliness in everyday life, especially in the workplace. If you are an employer, then time lost through work related illness should be a major consideration.

Scientists have shown that work stations contain nearly 400 times as many microbes than lavatories.The worst offenders are telephones, containing upto 25,127 microbes per square inch, keyboards 3,295 and computer mice 1,676.

In looking at these figures it is vital to sanitise the surfaces that you touch on a regular basis, with the NHS advice indicating that the most effective way to slow down the spread of a pandemic flu is by stopping the spread of germs. There are many ways in which to do this, such as washing your hands regularly and using tissues to cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough.
