Karaoke can make you completely forget about your every day's worries and refuel your soul all the way up. If you are new to the whole karaoke machine thing, but you want to become a part of it, there is a list of objects that you must execute, so that the fun can have no limits. First of course is the karaoke machine itself. You have to take your time and be careful with the choice, because ones you start searching for one, you will be amused what a variety of machines there is. You must look at the technical specifications and what warranty does the manufacturer offer. Also there is the question of size and design. But most of all, if you have a limited budget, you have to consider the price. Usually a standard karaoke system costs from $40 to £250.

Then come the microphones. Here you also have a huge set of manufacturers and models to choose from. You are not going to sing at Wembley Arena. That is why you shouldn't spend too much money on mics. For a decent price you can purchase wire or wireless ones and enjoy a crystal clear sound. Everything over £35-£45 is just unreasonably expensive, having in mind for what you are buying mics in the first place.

The monitor, where you will read the lyrics, can be your own TV (as long as it has all required inputs/outputs).

If the karaoke machine you've purchased doesn't go with a built in memory or direct LAN internet, you must consider buying CD+G discs. Don't fool yourself that disks that contain thousands of songs are better than the original ones. The quality with those disks is very poor.

A stable stereo system is definitely required. It is most recommended to use PA speakers because they fit with the karaoke standards. Apart from the primary karaoke equipment there are some nice additions to go with your system. A built-in video camera gives you the opportunity to watch yourself, family and friends perform live on screen.

If there are special songs for which you don't own a karaoke instrumental, a voice cancellation software is a good choice. But you must have in mind that the quality may not be as expected because of the alterations which the program makes due to the removing of vocals.

There are also the so called All-in-one-systems. Their technical specifications and power vary from fitting to a small intimate celebration, to being the perfect solution for massive parties.
