Juno II Rugged Kiosk for the Industrial Workplace - By: S.Roberts

Juno2 is a rugged touch screen computer designed to be installed in dealership servicing areas and runs most DMS software.

As a motor dealer already using a DMS system, you will already be aware of the efficiency gains to be made by automating and streamlining your business systems, including motor servicing. But were you aware that further efficiency gains are possible?

We have been working in the motor service and retailing sector for three years, and one product in particular has been improving DMS returns for our customers in that time: Juno II.

How? We designed Juno II in response to the growing number of service modules being built into DMS systems, where direct communication with service technicians is a key requirement. We observed that a significant proportion of the efficiency improvements being gained by the DMS were being diluted on poor system provision for technicians in the workshop itself, including a shared single computer due to space constraints, with “traditional” mouse and keyboard methods of entry.

Juno II provides a rugged and reliable interface between your DMS and technicians that does not distract them from their work:

Wall mounted: so it is very close to the service bay, provides eye-level visual line to the operators, and is shareable by neighbours. It also takes no floor space.

Touch screen: operator quickly navigates your DMS with fast finger touches

Keyboard and trackball: serial numbers or product codes can be entered using our specially toughened keyboard whic also resists grease and grime and can be easily cleaned. The keyboard also includes an integrated trackball for ease of use.

Networking: the unit can connect to your wired ethernet network or alternatively use your wireless router.

Security key: using a world unique key, entry to the system is restricted to controlled users only, with our magnetic security keys. These keys cannot be copied and are designed to withstand day to day useage. The unit itself can be secured to the wall using a padlock if required.

Built to last: We designed Juno II to be a substantial machine that can be relied upon to perform for years and years, yet withstand the rigours of workshop life on a daily basis

And the techy bit? Juno II employs a special Pentium class processor, which generates virtually no heat; low heat of course means high reliability. Its twin-helix cooling system ensures Juno II can operate at up to 50°C ambient, and replaceable air intake filters stop lumpy workshop air getting into the works. A bright clear digital LCD display gives technicians a high quality environment to work with. The machines are constructed from steel and finished with a tough paint coating. All in all, these machines are built to last!
