Jaslene Gonzalez has many reasons to rejoice. Apart from her successful stint on America’s Next Top Model as Cycle 8 winner, she has triumphantly overcome an abusive past.

Gonzalez has tried to penetrate America’s Next Top Model in Cycle 7.

However, her personal issues have made it difficult for her to play on top of the game. Apparently, she has been in an abusive relationship, which took away her self-worth and self-confidence. The effect of her horrible past has also affected so many aspects in her life, physically and emotionally.

So what has made her rise from her abusive past? Her rejection from America’

Next Top Model Cycle 7 has upshot a positive impact, which enabled her to realize that she needed help. Since then, she has sought for therapy, which has gradually helped her to get her life back on track. In addition, it has given her the confidence to try again for America’s Next Top Model.

Her second attempt on Top Model has been very rewarding. Apart from regaining her self-esteem, she has ended up as the winner, earning a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl, a representation by Elite Model Management and a spread in Seventeen magazine.

Gonzalez, a 20-year old native of Puerto Rico, has worked as an online college admissions advisor prior to her participation on Top Model.
