Is The Amway Arena A Place To Enter? - By: peterbennett

Amway has been around for years. There is enormous history as you would expect given the companies longevity in the MLM industry

In 1959, Jay Van Andel and Richard DeVos founded the company which now offers approximately 450 products all over the world..

Specialising in mainly house hold products, the list includes the likes of laundry applications, jewellery, cosmetics and Nurilite health products.

There are over 3 million IBOs (Independent Business Owners) within the Amway arena.

The fact is that Amway is based in over 80 countries.

I cant help but think it is not by coincidence that a company with this type of lengevity and global reach has remained a credible option for network marketers.

Just to prove its world wide appeal, China has Amway listed on its CLSA index as a top consumer brand. The ranking is even listed higher than companies such as Toshiba and Apple

After learning more about their products, it would come as no surprise to know that they operate 65 research and Development laboratories worldwide with more than 500 scientists, engineers and technical professionals employed.

When you add to all of this, the teaching and motivational programs that are available, one would have to ask the question. With those cedentials one might wonder why everone isnt doing it??

The downside as I see it is that like many MLM opportunities, the retention rate of new sign ups is incredibly low. Averages across the entire industry show between 12% and 15%. The anxiety and stress levels associated with these results are a continuous challenge to overcome.

Amway is no different to most MLM businesses; your success will be dependant on your ability to overcome rejection and the ability to continualyy remind yourself of the reasons why you are doing it.

My experience in the MLM industry tells me that most people will claim the fact that they would do anything to reach their goals which of course is admirable.

The unfortunate thing is that they tend to not fully comprehend what they are saying.

These exact same words have been shared with me while recently interviewing. What a shame the desire "to do anything" did not include reading a book and simple things like open honesty.

Success has a price and it is to be paid in full but sometimes the cost is just too high. Its just not something alot of people are used to.

Following on from that, the biggest challenges will come from the marketing strategies generally used when building Amway and I'm referring to traditional offline strategies.

This is where the rubber hits the road as you begin to prospect for people to join your business.

Marketing looks something like this. make a list of all your family, friends, butcher, doctor, plumber etc etc. Try the products, atend weekly seminars, deliver fliers, hand out samples and talk to anyone within a 3 foot circle of you that will listen.

Become a walking, talking Billboard.

Now as intimidating as it may seem, there are countless people stringently following these techniques and there are obviously some who grab these strategies and run all the way onto the stage of success with them.

There can be no hiding. The comfort zone needs re-defining as the strategies tend to provide one of the bigger stumbling blokes on the way to your success.

The marketing strategy is not always an attractive option when you consider pushing the boundaries with friend and family resulting in the potential for isolation.

Having said that, the internet provides online options to marketing your business interests that is appealing to a growing list of network marketers.

It doesnt mean it is easier. the business will always have its demands whether it be online or offline.

If you believe everything you are told, done correctly, there is no need to chase the leads as they will chase you.

The choice is yours . Amway is not leaving anytime soon. Love them or hate them, its an option for anyone in the looking zone for a company to build a business with.

It is no fly by night business opportunity and remains an attractive and viable business for many.
