It would be great if there were some magic pill that we could take, and somehow burn up all our extra fat in a couple days. I'd certainly pay a few dollars for that. Of course, these kinds of things don't exist, and we have to resort to willpower enforced diets that never seem to work. But recently discoveries may mean that something called leptin may be the miracle we've been waiting for. With leptin, there may be a way to lose weight without ever feeling hungry again.

The secret is something called Leptin. This is a hormone that is secreted by your fat cells. When everything is functioning normally, any excess fat will create leptin, and the brain will recognize the leptin, and you won't be hungry. That's how our bodies were designed. To use our fat as stored energy. When our reserves get low, and amount of leptin that is secreted decreases, and our brains know to make us hungry again.

But nowadays, we eat plenty of processed foods, specifically processed carbohydrates like breads, grains and other food that is cheap to grow, ship, and store, but not so good for our bodies. The more of these we eat, the harder it is for our brains to notice the leptin in our blood. So even if we are hundreds of pounds overweight, our brains still think we are running on empty, and makes us hungry all the time.

In order to get your brain back into leptin balance, so it actually recognizes that you've got plenty of stored energy, all you need to do is cut these foods out of your diet. The difference is amazing. You will rarely be hungry, and you'll never experience that blood sugar crash that makes you want to raid the coffee closet at work just to eat some sugar. You'll go to a restaurant, look at all the food on your plate and wonder what you're going to do with it all.

What's the best way to go about doing this? Get rid of all processed carbohydrates, like bread, pasta, snacks, candy. Avoid all food fried in saturated fat like potato chips, french fries, and fried chicken. Eat plenty of good fats, like those found in olive oil and fish. Consider taking a fish oil supplement, as Omega 3 fatty acids are thought to be ideal in helping you switch back into leptin balance.

Maybe right now it may seem impossible to be able to give up on those foods, but give it a couple weeks. After you switch back into leptin balance, you'll never want to eat those foods again, and hunger will be a thing of the past.
