The realtor or the Firms should have membership from the Institute of Estate Agents (IEA) and competent enough to cater to the requirements of the customer. These agents could be found in the magazines, websites, newspapers etc. Private housing, condo units and landed properties are also available in Singapore.

Condo units are spacious and luxurious apartments located in very good neighborhoods. The demand is ever increasing for condo units. These are normally sold at $3000 per square feet.

The following points need to be considered before investing in real estate

  • Ownership: Make sure that the seller is the real owner of the property. Ensure to check the proof of the seller.



  • Bankruptcy: The real owner of the property may be bankrupt. Make sure whether the seller has the eligibility to sale and should posses a written consent from the Official Assignee.



  • Eligibility: The Singapore government Residential Property Act along with HDB's laws has laid certain restrictions for a foreigner to invest in the properties, both commercial and residential. Make sure that all the eligibility criteria are satisfied.


Other than these there are some other factors to be considered.

Before searching of the property make sure which type of property and size of the property you are interested in. Make sure that the expected facilities and amenities are satisfied.

The realtor provides various investment options such as loan arrangements etc. Be aware of all the loan options with their terms and conditions defined clearly. Avoid taking high finance risks.

Be cautious of the market rates of the type of property you are looking for.
