Article marketing is very popular and cost-effective method of promoting online products or getting traffic to your website. There are lots of article directory sites which publish third party articles with minimum cost or even for free. Article marketing involves the following steps.

Write an article;

Write good author's bio for your article containing promotional text and necessary hyperlinks of the product you want to promote;

Submit it in various article directories along with your author's bio;

Readers read your article and will be attracted about the product you are promoting.

So in article marketing the most important mater is the article itself. Here are few points you should remember before writing an article.

Topic of the article must be relevant to your website or the product you want to promote. Most of the readers read your article come from search engine. They are looking for a particular topic and if your product does not match with that topic you will not get targeted visitors to your site.

Your writing must be search engine friendly because search engine is the main source of your traffic.

Do not put your link or promote your product within the article itself since most of the directories do not allow it.

Do not write any negative campaign about a product or website.

You should not include any adult or pornographic material in your article.

You should not write an article containing hate, violence or other offensive material, or any such material which may hart other people or community.

A good article is about 400 to 700 words long, easy to read and without spelling or grammatical error.

Writing good author's bio
Author bio is a brief introduction about the author writing the article. It is usually three to four lines long and attached at the end of the article. Author bio is the key area where you should put your site links promotional text etc. to attract readers towards your website. So writing good author bio is one of the key factors of success in article marketing.

Article directory
Apart from getting traffic to your website another very important aspect of article marketing is to improve search engine ranking of your website by getting one way backlinks. According to the Google webmaster guide line backlinks are the most important constituent to improve PageRank. There are lots of article directory site available in the internet today. You should only concentrate to the sites which has a good PageRank and which allow you to put dofollow links in your author's bio.

There are many directories which start with dofollow link policy and later they change it. So before submitting makes sure that they do not change their link policy.
