There are so many events throughout the year, Christmas, birthdays, valentines, Easter, anniversaries which need buying a gift for; it's often hard to come up with unique or original gift ideas which will wow the receiver.

You want to give a gift which will inspire and is sure to be used rather than being put aside and recycled for someone else's present, a gift which when you present it makes the person excited rather than having to conjure up half enthusiastic thanks, but this has all got to be done within a budget.

In the tight grip of the recession, where spare cash is hard to come by and every penny counts, it is even more important that what you spend your money on is actually worth it. Birthday and Christmas lists are surely the best way of buying something that a person wants and getting it right first time, but if the person you are buying for appears to have everything, what are your options?

I have spent hours scouring shops for gift ideas only to come home empty handed, buying clothes, aftershaves and perfumes is often down to personal taste and therefore buying any of these is more of a hit and miss exercise rather than a sure thing. Socks, pants and hankies should be left for Gran to buy at Christmas and buying chocolates seems to represent a last minute gift which shows little preparation.

Gift Ideas vary immensely depending upon the person you are buying for, their age and interests all have to be considered, and with this in mind gift ideas can become easier.

One way of finding new and inspiring gift ideas is searching online; you can search for all manner of gifts, mens gifts, gifts for her, unique gifts the list is endless so too are the websites which can provide the solution to your problem.

From my own experience I have bought many items online, including electronic goods but I stumbled across a few sites recommending experience days which were perfect for my cause. I was looking to buy a loved one a gift which I knew they were going to enjoy and would be slightly different from the normal range of presents I had bought previously. So experience days intrigued me.

The range of gift ideas was surprisingly varied and more importantly catering for both men and women of all ages, there were pampering and indulgence gifts these could range as little as a facial or back massage to a weekend away all inclusive in a spa, there were wine tasting days, cooking lessons, photography even chocolate workshops, or for the more adventurous there was a whole host of sport packages and extreme sports days.

I opted for a WWII Tank and Paintball experience day, the fun being that you got to drive a tank which fired huge paintballs at your opponents, a day which was certainly something out of the normal, enjoyed by all and created many memories for us, certainly value for money and definitely a unique gift idea.

In conclusion I feel the solution to finding new and exciting gift ideas is the amount of preparation you put into it, knowing what the person likes and being inspired to look a little outside of the box when it comes to buying something different.
