Virender Sehwag was born in a Jaat family in the Indian state of Haryana on 20 October 1978. He is an opening right-handed batsman and also bowls right-arm off spin as a part-timer. Virender Sehwag is considered as an aggressive batsmen and a hard hitter of the ball and most bowlers get conscious when bowling against him in international cricket matches.

• During ODI matches in March 2009, Virender Sehwag scored fastest century from only 60 balls.

Virender Sehwag cricket academy was a dream for Sehwag which he fulfilled recently. Sehwag launched this academy for young cricket aspirants who cannot afford expensive cricket coaching. The main aim as Virender says is to encourage team spirit and teaching cricketing techniques among youngsters.

Virender Sehwag joined the Delhi Daredevils team in the IPL series and held the team name high by playing some memorable knocks.
