The creation of links is one of the foundations of good search engine optimization. Because it is through the links that people who are browsing the World Wide Web will be able to find their way to your website. This is a good way to create links while at the same time creating rapport with other website owners.

2. Create quality content on your website.

You can agree to this, only if they will give you a link. Again, it's a give and take principle on web marketing.

3. Create minisites and include links there pointing to your site.
This is an effective technique if you will be able to come up with a quality minisite. Do not undertake this endeavor if you are just going to make a minisite with nothing but duplicate content and poorly written text. Put quality on your minisite and it will eventually bring good traffic to your main site.

There are other ways to create more links that will be pointing to your website but these three are among the tried and tested methods. If you are going to do it yourself, just make sure that you are making quality links, and not just any links that might as well be viewed as spams.
