Increase Your Website Traffic - By: Allan Michael Taylor

What use is your website if you do not have any page views or any considerable amount of traffic. So how can you make this happen? By creating an effective link building campaign.

The creation of links is one of the foundations of good search engine optimization. Because it is through the links that people who are browsing the World Wide Web will be able to find their way to your website. It is vital that some Internet marketers will even hire a link building service especially if they do not have the time to do it on their own. In short, it is worth the investment to have an effective network of live links.

But if you have limited resources, a requirement which can be quite big depending on your target, to hire a professional link builder, you can do it yourself. Of course it will consume much of your time and will require a great deal of effort on your part. If you have an assistant or a partner who can do this for you, all the better. Because then you can focus your attention on other important aspects of your online business.

So here are a few link building tips to help you get started to a profitable and effective web presence.

1. Guest post on other blogs or websites.
You can ask other website owners if you can write an article for them and then post it on their site. Most people are open to this give and take approach because they can have quality content on their websites while giving just a little space for the content creator. But you do not merely submit an article. You should make sure that a link to your website will be included either within the article or right after the article. This is a good way to create links while at the same time creating rapport with other website owners.

2. Create quality content on your website.
This is especially true with articles posted on your own site. This is effective because other people might get interested on your article and then ask for rights to post it on their own sites. You can agree to this, only if they will give you a link. Again, it's a give and take principle on web marketing.

3. Create minisites and include links there pointing to your site.
This is an effective technique if you will be able to come up with a quality minisite. Do not undertake this endeavor if you are just going to make a minisite with nothing but duplicate content and poorly written text. Put quality on your minisite and it will eventually bring good traffic to your main site.

There are other ways to create more links that will be pointing to your website but these three are among the tried and tested methods. If you are going to do it yourself, just make sure that you are making quality links, and not just any links that might as well be viewed as spams.
