Ideas for a Great Day - By: Dwight Gelowitz

Have you ever had those days when you just didn't want to do anything? No, really! Like there is nothing on your list of things to do that day that you want to do. Doesn't it rip that you 'have to' do all these other things and never anything for yourself?

I get those days sometimes. My days start out like that sometimes. Don't fight it. Those are not the kind of days you want to repeat themselves. I don't know for sure but I think it starts a cycle of depression and I certainly don't want to go down that road anytime soon.

My belief is that you kick off those 'have to' feelings by giving no thought or energy to them. Get out of the house and find something that you 'want to' do. Forget about that list of things you 'have to' do. Until you get doing some of the things you want to do you'll never have the energy to do the things you 'have to' do.

Here's a list that might help you live your life to the fullest everyday.

1. Laugh Out Loud! They say that laughter is great medicine. Laughing no matter how bad you feel about someone or something if you just laugh you will feel so much better about any situation you face. Through those times in my life when i have felt down. There is always someone around to want to make you feel better and try to make you laugh. With all that emotion running through me i would just laugh even if it wasn't funny. Then i felt so much better. Its all about the laughter.

2. Not sure about your direction - How do you feel? Stop and think about it. It's ok to stop and not do something until you know what to do. You're not wrong. Do a check up from the neck up. How do you feel about the direction your taking or the decision your about to make? Do you ache or feel good? We've been given a great system for knowing what is right and wrong for us. It's our feelings and emotions. Checking how you feel is a natural thing to do. Once you know how you feel you'll be able think about and decide what direction you want to take. Take the time. If you spend the time to ensure you're going in a direction you want you'll end up enjoying the journey so much more.

3. Become acquainted with who you are. Go within. Find out who you are. You don't have to be around people every minute of every day. Spend time with yourself on a daily basis. Some people meditate. Jogging and Yoga are good things to do with yourself. Its about doing things by yourself to get to know yourself.. Its who you are that you're sharing so get to know the person you're showing to other people.

4. Spend time with the people you love. It should go without saying but so many people give up time with the people they love in pursuit of things outside of themselves. More money, better job, etc... You'll never get to re-live your kids childhood. They just want your time. They'll do without a new car if they can see you at their basketball games! They can do without more furniture or a bigger house if you're there for their dance recitals. When your time is done will you regret not buying a bigger house or not being at your childs first win?

It's funny that the more time you spend enjoying your life just the way it is the more successful you become. It's not about having what you want. It's about wanting what you have.

Never mind the Smith's live your life. When you are who you choose to be you live life fully expressed. Then when you get back to what you 'have to' do. You'll enjoy that a little bit more.
