Beginner Woodworking Projects Beginner projects are significant for the beginner and use the most basic of the tools (saw, hammer, and hand drill). These projects are also completed with hand sanding. When taking on these projects, the only operations needed are sawing, gluing, nailing and clamping. These will help hone in on the basic skills and prepare for further woodworking projects. Intermediate Woodworking Projects After you've done your fair share of beginner projects and find yourself comfortable with measuring and sawing wood along with gluing, sanding, finishing and nailing, it's time to look for ideas for woodworking projects that require intermediate skills. These intermediate skills will hone your skills with power tools such as saws, hand drills, drill presses, routers, and sanding tools. While dipping into the intermediate projects, you'll begin to create items like book shelves, coffee tables, chests, cabinets, framed mirrors and entertainment consoles. If you enjoy the larger projects, you will also notice more complex types of furniture and also beds. If you find that you would like to partake in the joinery side of woodworking, look towards building jewelry boxes with draws and items like that. Advanced Woodworking Projects Okay, you've mastered intermediate and basic woodworking projects, now it's time to move on to advanced projects. In advanced projects, we'll start using the router, miter, joinery, and turning to perfection. Examples include coffee tables that with a simple design but perhaps include dove tail joints and shaped legs. Also consider more advanced builds from cabinets.
