IBS and Constipation? Eat Larger Meals with Fiber - By: Robert Carleton

Irritable bowel syndrome can cause a number of different problems in us as individuals that may be quite varied. Almost everybody is going to experience at least some of these symptoms from time to time and if they were to be checked, it would probably be lumped under this one single category of IBS. The simple fact of the matter is, however, it cannot be all-encompassing and of course, there are going to be different reasons why you may be experiencing different symptoms. That is why it is often necessary for you to approach the symptoms singularly instead of approaching them as a whole.

An example of this is if you're having a problem with constipation as a result of irritable bowel syndrome. Typically, this is caused by a few very simplistic root elements but the way to fix it is actually to eat larger meals. This may seem a little bit counterproductive, especially if you are having a difficult time relieving yourself but in reality, eating larger meals will help to push things through naturally. You should also make sure that you are getting plenty of natural fiber along with the larger meals that you are eating as this will also help to bulk things up and keep it moving.

Another issue that may be causing the constipation symptoms that you are experiencing is dehydration. Although it is a good idea for you to adjust the meals that you are eating if you're dealing with constipation, it is an equally good idea for you to make sure that you are getting plenty of water into your body. The large intestine will contract itself in waves in order to push the feces through and to expel it from the body. There may be times during dehydration, however, when this contraction process will squeeze the feces in place in order to extract as much water as possible from it. This creates health problems through the entire body.

Eating at the right times, getting plenty of fiber in your diet that is natural and drinking enough water to keep yourself hydrated are all ways for you to be able to overcome these problems with constipation. Often, you will notice almost immediate results once you make these lifestyle changes. Continue to make these improvements to your health and to adjust the way that you are living and you will find that your digestive and overall health will benefit as a result.
