Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a very frequent and serious condition that can lead to and/or complicate many health problems. These include coronary heart disease, stroke, kidney failure and heart failure.

Hypertension means high blood pressure. It is the stipulation when the pressure of the blood caused by the pumping of the heart goes much beyond normal values.

The human heart beat has two distinct phases – the systole when the heart is beating, and the diastole when the mind is at rest.
During both the times, the heart exert pressure on the blood.

When you take a blood pressure reading, the doctor will use a device known as a sphygmomanometer tied around your arm. Then he or she will give you two readings.

High Blood Pressure or Hypertension is a general medical problem of the industrialized nations. Pumping of the heart causes blood pressure and this force, moves blood through the circulatory system. Blood pressure can be spoken as systolic (high point) and diastolic (low point).

Blood pressure is mainly in time by small blood vessels (arterioles) that widen and constrict, causing pressure to fall and rise.

Hypertension Treatment

Vegetables are also good for a hypertension patient and vegetarians have strikingly lower blood pressure. Vegetables should if at all possible be taken raw. If they are cooked, it should be ensured that their natural juices are not burnt in the process of cooking.

The intake of salt should be restricted; in any case it should not be taken more than four grams or half a teaspoon a day. Baking powder, containing sodium carbonate, should also be avoided.

Home Remedies for Hypertension

1. Mix 2 parts of orange juice with 1 part of coconut water. Drink one or a half cup of this juice twice or thrice a day.

2. Boil 5-6 leaves of olive in a cup of water for five minutes. Drink it thrice a day. It is very effective natural remedy for hypertension.

3. Grapefruit is also helpful in high blood pressure treatment.

4. Lemon juice is also good home remedy for high blood pressure.

5. Eat dried and roast seeds of watermelon. It has proven results in the treatment for high blood pressure.

6. Potatoes are very beneficial in the handling of high blood pressure. Boil it with the skin so that they absorb little salt. Potatoes are rich in potassium but not in sodium salts.
