Hyderabad or the City of Pearls, as it is popularly referred to, is one of the fastest developing cities of India. The capital city of Andhra Pradesh, it is also the fifth largest city of India. This erstwhile state of Nizams has truly a royal legacy. Just enter the city and you will come to know that you have come to a place which is surely different from other cities of India as well as world. That old world charm can be still seen in the city. About Hyderabad

Hyderabad, located along the banks of the Musi river in south India was founded by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, a feudatory of Bahmani Kingdom who later declared independence. He named this city as Bhagyanagram after his beloved wife, Bhagyamati. When his wife converted to Islam, she was renamed Hyder Mahal and so did city’s name changed to Hyderabad.

Standing gracefully at a height of 48.7 m, it houses 45 prayer halls and a mosque with in it. Just walk 200 yards southwest you will come across another splendid monument – Mecca Masjid. This mosque has been named so because the bricks to build it had been brought from Mecca. Started by Qutb Shahi kings, the mosque was finally completed by the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb in 1694. Golconda Fort is another famous tourist attraction in Hyderabad. Known for its acoustic, this fort was built by three Qutb Shahi kings over a period of 62 years.
Hussain Sagar Lake, Osman Sagar Lake, Lumbini Park, KBR National Park, Secret Lake, Hyderabad Botanical GardenLegislative Assembly, Osmania University, Salar Jung Museum, Archaeological Musuem of Andhra Pradesh, Nehru Zoological Park, Hitech City, Birla Mandir and Birla Planetarium are some of the other stopovers in Hyderabad tourist destinations.
