Hulu continues its phenomenal rise to the top of the internet TV charts by taking 3rd place in the videos viewed category.
Over 14.5 billion videos were streamed during March 2009 and watched by US viewers, an increase of 11% compared to February, this from the March 2009 data compiled by comScore Video Metrix service.

Hulu had 41.6 million unique viewers last month, and is growing faster than any other online video website. The increase shows that there is a hunger for full length content as opposed to Youtube shorts. And the stats show that an average Hulu video was nearly double the length as the average internet video.
The mighty Google were still top video website, with 5.9 billion videos viewed (40.9%), with YouTube still supplying over 99% of all videos viewed from Google sites. Fox came in 2nd with 437 million videos (3%), and then Hulu bringing up the rear with 380 million (2.6%). Yahoo then followed with 335 million (2.3%).
The survey also revealed:-
77.8% of internet users in th US watched video on the internet.
The average online video viewer watched 327 minutes of video, or nearly 5.5 hours worth.
99.7 million viewers watched 5.9 billion videos on YouTube.com which equates to 59.1 videos for every user.
47.4 million viewers watched 349 million videos on MySpace.com which is 7.4 videos for each user.
Hulu accounted for 2.6% of videos viewed, but 4.9% of all minutes spent watching online video.
The duration of the average online video was 3.4 minutes.
But the main thing the survey reveled is that online TV is growing month on month. And the real content the public want is premium full length TV shows and movie.

Talk is in the air of a deal finally happening between online tv heavyweight Hulu and cutesy but all powerful Disney corp.
After being in the pot for several months, an announcement will be made within days that Disney content will be available to view on Hulu.
Once finalised the deal will see Disney TV shows including Lost currently showing on ABC and a selection of Disney movies but in return Disney are expecting a stake in Hulu and even a seat on the board!
The hold up in the deal is what content will be available and for how long type conundrums. But once announced it will be a major deal for the two giants with Disney driving more traffic to its content and securing more advertising revenue whilst Hulu get even more content on its already content rich website.
The news comes after the well publicised Disney and Youtube deal, which allows the video giant to show only previews and clips of Disney content.
Whatever happens and whenever. The face of online TV and how we watch it is slowly evolving. The networks are wary in giving too much premium content for too long as this may take viewers away from the traditional television set.
The big networks are however fully aware that it is a train that cannot be stopped. So having full control over it is where Hulu wants to be. But then so does Youtube.
Stay tuned, online tv gets more interesting every day.
