How will the Toyota recall affect your future? - By: Kim Thornton

Do you rely on Toyota for your income? Whether that is in an assembly plant, parts factory, dealership, repair, or whatever, if you do rely on Toyota, what is in store for your future?

I ask this question out of very real concern.

Unless you've been living on mars, you know the company has had a serious public relations slap. Massive safety recalls along with the admission by the CEO that the company "lost its way" by putting profits ahead of safety.

So the question comes back to those of you who rely on Toyota for your living. What effect will this situation have on your future?

First, I want you to know that I have a great deal of both sympathy and compassion for you and your situation.

What's going to happen in your future? Can this company survive? Will there be massive layoffs if sales tumble as a result of this state of affairs?

Personally, I hope the company does survive. In fact I believe it will. But I also thik it will take considerable time. How much time is an unknown.

Is the car-buying public going to feel safe purchasing a vehicle from a company that has publicly admitted it was more interested in profits than the safety of its customers? What additional revelations might come to light in the months ahead?

Certainly Toyota's image has taken a massive hit. You, as someone who depends on Toyota for your family's security may feel a sense of despair and hopelessness. You may realize that your future is no longer in your hands, that your future depends on where the winds of change blow!

Take Control!

The one thing I urge you to do, or anyone who feels they have taken a hit due to forces beyond their power, is to search for a way to get in control.

But let me say this.

I fully understand that most people, in spite of their circumstances, will not take the required steps to get command of their future.

This may or may not describe you. In fact, maybe you've never thought about doing something that would give you command over your future.

I stronlgy urge you to take a few minutes to reflect on what the future holds. If you do nothing, where will you be one year from now? On the other hand, if you do take some action today, what could your circumstances be in those same 12 months?

Check out the article in the link in the next paragraph. It might be the most important decision you'll ever make.
