1. Stabilized frosting from whipped cream for cakes
Stabilized whipped cream is better for icing because it can easily hold the shape and texture it has been molded into for a longer period of time. This recipe is really good for pies and cakes but there is even more to it than that! It has no more than 55 calories in one serving which makes it even more appealing to the women who want to keep their figure in good shape. In order to make it you need:
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream;
- ¼ cup of cold water;
- 1 tablespoon of sugar;
- 1 tablespoon of gelatin which is unflavored;
- ½ tablespoon of vanilla extract.
How to make:
Put your mixing bowl and your mixer in the fridge for at least an hour before you start in order to chill them. Put the gelatin in the water in a bowl which can be put in the microwave and leave it for 5 minutes. After you have done that, put the solution in the microwave for no more than 3 minutes and when 1 ½ minutes have passed stir once. After the 3 minutes are up take the mixture out of the microwave and leave it to stand for 10 minutes after which you will surely have cool liquid gelatin. While you are waiting put the cream in the mixing bowl along with the vanilla extract and the sugar. Whip the mixture until the beater marks are prominent and then add the gelatin. If you do not want to go through all the trouble of having to use the mixer for about 45 minutes just get a whipped cream charger and make whipped cream instantly. When the whipped cream is ready put the gelatin in the bowl with it. Continue the whipping until the cream starts stiffening in peaks and then use it immediately. You can choose to add 2 big molten marshmallows to your whipping cream before you begin transforming it into whipped cream and then continue with the procedure. This will sweeten and stabilize the whipped cream at the same time. This easy recipe can help you make a remarkable cake and surprise your family and guests with your skills as a cook!
