With all the hundreds and thousands of calorie diets and plans available what they are basically telling you is this, IF YOU CONSUME MORE CALORIES THAN YOU USE, YOU WILL GAIN WEIGHT. End of. NO magic formula. NO special pills. NO rigid diet plan. NO nothing. Just plain old calories in verses calories out.

Or is it that simple!

The problem is that when you do follow a calorie counting diet you are actually restricting your weight loss progress and thereby slowing down you metabolism. In order to burn excess fat and reduce weight it is important to build muscle and increase you metabolic rate.

Throughout the day our energy and blood sugar levels change constantly. In order to lose weight we need to keep this as stable as possible.

An easy and simple way to boost our metabolism is to eat small meals more frequently. Simply by having our regular three meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner will not suffice. Don't get me wrong, they are three very important meals not to be missed but by reducing the quantity and calorie content of each meal, together with periodic snacks throughout the day, you will never feel hungry.

Providing your body with energy by consuming the rights foods every 2 to 3 hours tells your body it does not need to store calories as fat to function. However eating every 5 to 6 hours which seems to be the norm, or even skipping meals hoping to lose weight, will result in unhealthy and body damaging weight loss.

Here are the main benefits to eating more frequently to enhance and promote weight loss.

3. Trains your stomach to be satisfied and accept smaller meals.
4. Eliminates the body's 'craving mode'.
5. Easier to plan meals as you know exactly when to eat.

Another important aspect to this method is to drink plenty of water throughout your day to keep yourself well hydrated and full. Drink eight to twelve glasses of water each day. Do not include other drinks such as coffee, tea and soda as your water intake. Other drinks are very dehydrating and cause you to need more water.

As a final note ensure that you listen to your body. If it is telling you "I'm hungry", that means you need to reduce the time between meals but still keep the same amount of calories.

Now having read this you may think great, how will I easily introduce this and secondly remember its time to eat at a certain time. Well I have the solution; the secret; the trick and its so, so simple.

Set your phone to remind you everyone 2 hours to eat. That's it. Just try it for a couple of days and see how you feel. Remember no more than 150/300 calories per meal and try to have protein and carbohydrates every time.
