Easily reheat frozen food by placing it in a heat-proof bowl. Place the bowl in or over a pan of simmering water. Gently reheat while stirring occasionally. You can also reheat the food in the microwave. This will save you time, but be extra careful as the food will be hotter in some places more than others. Always stir the food and taste it before serving to make sure it's not too hot. Always, let the food sit for a minute or two before serving to baby. Stir again just before serving. Always thaw frozen baby food in the refrigerator. Do not thaw baby food at room temperate as it can breed bacteria.

Fruit and vegetables provide you with vitamins, minerals and fibre to help keep your body healthy. Eat a piece of fruit or drink fresh juice for breakfast. Fresh berries on muesli or porridge or cereal. Have fruit as a snack during the day and salad and vegetables with your main meals.

If you can, buy organic and wash fruit and vegetables before eating unless your peeling them. Pesticide residues are more likely to remain on the skin and fruits such as apples are often treated in storage.

Ripen certain fruits on the counter and move them to the refrigerator when they are soft to the touch. Unripe pears, apricots, peaches, plums, mangoes, honeydew melons, cantaloupes, bananas, kiwis, and avocados can soften on the counter. Once they turn soft to the touch, move them into the refrigerator. Apples will also continue to ripen. Put un-bruised apples in the refrigerator to keep them crisp for many weeks.

Keep the intake of foods high in polyunsaturated fatty acids low - mainly nuts and seeds and any products made from them PUFAs are unstable, they oxidize readily resulting in harmful free radicals. High PUFA intake has been repeatedly linked with cancer, heart and inflammatory diseases.

Fruits contain all the natural vitamins and minerals in correct proportion. Fresh fruits are the ones you must look for as they are one of the richest sources of nutrients. Apart from these fresh fruits, you can also find processed fruits in the market. The nutrition values of the processed fruits are less compared to fresh fruits.

To lose weight, one must eat protein and fiber rich food items. Fruits are one of the best sources of proteins and fibers. Fruits are natural appetite suppressant. This means you won't feel hungry quickly and you can stay without food for a longer time. This can be immensely helpful for those who are keen on losing weight.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are loaded with antioxidants, phytochemicals and vitamins which neutralize "free radicals". Free radicals are unstable compounds created from the metabolism of fats and/or environmental factors and may be responsible for altering the cell's metabolism resulting in abnormal cellular growth food in cancer. Eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day can avoid such chronic diseases.

Keep fresh fruits from turning brown such as apples, bananas, or pears with acidic fruits like oranges, pineapple, or lemon juice.
