How to Use DNA Paternity Testing Kits without Going to Laboratory - By: Val Soriano

Conducting a paternity test is one of the best ways to ensure that there is a biological relationship between a father and a son/daughter. DNA paternity tests are usually done in laboratories, however, many people feel ashamed to go to a laboratory and undergo a DNA paternity test. As a result, the home DNA paternity kit was created.

A home DNA paternity test usually consists of two cotton swabs and two test tubes that the swabs can be put in to avoid any outside contamination of the DNA once it has been taken. A home DNA paternity test can be used by following the steps mentioned below:

In order to use a home DNA paternity test, all one needs to do is rub the inside of their cheeks with one of the cotton swabs provided. One cotton swab should be rubbed on the inside of the fathers cheeks and one should be rubbed on the inside of the child’s cheeks.

Once the DNA is obtained, the cotton swabs should be placed in separate test tubes (that come with the test) to ensure no contamination reaches the DNA.

After this has been done, all you need to do is mail the tubes back to the testing company (the address is provided with the test) who will carry out a full DNA test and analysis on the provided DNA. Of course, the test will be done in secrecy.

Once the analysis is completed, the test results are sent back to you within a few weeks. Within the report, there will be clear proof on the biological relationship between a father and a child.

Home DNA paternity testing kits are a great way to confirm the biological relationship between two people without having to go to the laboratory.
