How to Tell a Legitimate Work From Home Prospect - By: Brian Murray

If you're looking to earn a second income or even a full-time income, you may be wondering about a legitimate work from home prospect versus one that is a scam or just a waste of time. Many people today waste money and time chasing after so-called opportunities and jobs that really don't pay anything and that worse yet, just take someone's money and give nothing in return. It's sometimes difficult to tell the legitimate work from home opportunities from those scams and schemes because those who are running scams are very good at disguising them as real chances to work and earn a living. So how can you tell something that is a legitimate work from home job or prospect versus scams and schemes? There are no guarantees, but let's look at some small tips and tricks you can consider.

First, remember that legitimate work from home jobs shouldn't cost you money simply to sign up. There may be fees associated with certain aspects of working from home, but you should be getting something in return for those fees. For instance, many legitimate work from home involve freelancing services of some sort. Websites that hook up freelancers with those that want to hire them usually charge fees for a number of bids a freelancer can place for jobs, and this is perfectly legitimate. You know you're bidding on specific jobs from specific buyers. What is dangerous are those that charge fees for you to join their network and they say that they'll send work your way when it arrives. How do you know there is even work that comes in? When something is very vague and you need to pay money for nothing specific in return, this is the time to think that it's probably not a legitimate work from home opportunity.

Also, it's good to remember that if you sign up with a company to sell something, this can be a legitimate work from home job but only if customers are getting an actual product in return. You should never have to pay fees to sign up in the first place, and if you are going to recruit others to sell a product then they shouldn't need to pay fees to sell as well. Those legitimate work from home selling jobs involve selling a product, not collecting money for reseller's right or licensing fees or other charges. A customer should get something in return for their money and no one should need to pay for the privilege of selling a product to someone else!

There are many legitimate work from home jobs and opportunities available and more and more people are finding that they can work from home full-time, if they do things right. The key is to really keep a sharp eye out for things that sound like a scam or scheme, and if you're not getting something in return for you money then you need to be cautious.
